Hugo is an ASG (Averagely Spooky Ghost) and a main character in the Ghosthunters series.
History.[]
Hugo was once a living human over 150 years ago, but then met his untimely demise when he fell off the roof of his home while sleepwalking. After this, he haunted his family home for years, scaring his relations and their descendants. Then one day, his home was invaded by an IRG (Incredibly Revolting Ghost). The IRG forced him out, and he went into the cellar of Tom. After hearing his story, Tom and expert ghosthunter Hetty Hyssop team up with Hugo’s great-great-great nephew Zachary Lovely to capture the IRG. Ever since, Hugo has become one of Hetty’s assistants alongside Tom in the group now known as Hyssop & Company
Appearance[]
Hugo is described as having “garish green eyes, flapping hair, and a scornful smirk” upon Tom’s first seeing him. As most ghosts do, Hugo is a pale white color most of the time, but his color changes depending on his mood. He has a very large nose, somewhat sunken eyes with dark circles around them, and appears to wear something akin to a robe. He sometimes wears special shoes either to stop him from leaving his slimy trails everywhere, or to protect his feet from touching salt, which is painful to his ghostly skin.
Personality[]
Hugo is a mischievous trickster with a liking for playing practical jokes, and takes great pleasure in appearing and scaring humans senseless. He, like all ASGs, is easily offended, and will take vengeance out if he is provoked. He cares for his friends, however, as was made evident when he believed Tom would die after looking a Ghost of Death in the face, which normally results in death within the hour. He’s also rather fearful at times, and hides if a stronger ghost than him appears.
